A paradox too far.

I've painted (or written ) myself into a corner, so to ease my frayed nerves I painted another stupid picture.

My problem with Old Geezers 2 is that I've embroiled myself in the "what would happen if you went back in time to murder your father", paradox.

The fact that my characters have not gone back in time to murder anyone, let alone their fathers, isn't much help. And my weasly cop-out of using the Many Worlds Scenario to avoid the problem isn't working.

I will work it out and have fun doing it. And of course using paradoxes means that no one can really prove me wrong, except that should I really mess it up leaving the reader and myself feeling cheated, nobody will buy book three, which is nearly finished.

But not tonight. Another slice of toast and Marmite before bed then tomorrow I'll come back refreshed, maybe, I hope.

  2. Usually I can just step out with sticky feet, but not this time. More Marmite I say.

  3. Hi Roger! Been ahwile so wanted to stop by and say hi. And oh man can I relate to your issue. Writing time travel is a wibbly wobbly timey wimey mess sometimes. But i keep reminding myself it's fiction, therefore I can use my imagination to make more stuff up and write myself out of the corner.

    1. I'm hoping to do the same. The only problem is that someone always knows better and can be relied upon to remind me that I'm wrong. Needless to say, that happens a lot.

  4. Hi Roger, I have no idea how you even start to write something like that, but I wish you much luck with it!

    1. No problem. I love the picture and wish I could read them myself.
I begin writing stuff like this because I'm strange. I have that info on good authority - my wife.

  6. First place, of course, I love the picture. I think this happens to all of us, but I know the answer will come to you. I love Old Geezers and can't wait to read the next one, so I hope you do find the solution.

  7. I have found it. Yet another piece of theoretical nonsense, but the best part is that I didn't come up with it and so it should work. Probably.
    Hard at it.
