About time.

For an institution which usually wastes money as if the very notion was going out of fashion, the British government has finally done something right.

We all know that Microsoft has been warning/threatening us for months that its support for Windows XP is, was, to be halted in the first week of April. Now it seems that, not that it's much of a surprise, most hospitals and government offices are still using XP. Thus our elected buffoons have paid Microsft UK, an undisclosed number of millions for them to extend support for another year.

You'd have thought that someone might atually consider this since we've known about if for nearly a year. Nevertheless: there's just a slim chance they might even have made windows 8 something we can actually use by next year.
