Pretty Witches All In A row.

I've just finished Lisa's new novel. She didn't ask me to give a review but I'm going to do it anyway.
The opening chapters soon dragged me in and the pace quickened nicely with a likeable, and more importantly, believable central character. There are plenty of clues littering the novel and just as many carefully placed red herrings. Which meant that my early decision as to who the baddy was, was completely wrong.
I don't read many book written by women; not through choice but simply because few female writers cater to my rather eclectic taste, so it was a refreshing contrast to read how women see and describe the world and its inhabitants.
This is a good read with enough twists and turns to satisfy anyone. I see some influences here but this work is Lisa's own particular style and I shall be reading more. And Lisa, I'll buy the next one.

  3. Good review. I'm going to have to add this to my to-read list. I love a good mystery/crime novel, especially if they are good at placing the stones among the bread crumbs.

(bread crumbs = clues that can be eaten by birds, so they don't really lead anywhere. Stones are harder to see but are the solid clues that lead the way.)
