Just an experiment

I've just begun the sequel to Kongomato and I thought I'd try something new - yeah I know, like being careful.

No, apart from that I thought I'd write it in OpenOffice. When I've finally finished I'll keep it as, whatever their files are called and try to upload it as is. Most of the bigger companies, Amazon, smashwords etc, demand Word doc. or docx. files so having saved it properly I'll convert it to Word and try to spot the difference.

If it works, then it's hasta la vista Ms word.

I've sent messages to CreateSpace and Amazon asking when the new, updated copies of Kongomato paperback will be ready. No response yet from either. I can't be the only one ever to have updated their novels, can I?

  1. I was wondering how that worked with updates. One of the many benefits of eBooks, but I guess that depends on how long it takes too. Hope your sales are going well!!!

  2. I just received a reply from Amazon: "although CreateSpace is one of out companies, it isn't. We've passed on your request to them and they'll be in touch - maybe." That's not verbatim, but it might as well have been.

  3. From what I know, yes, you can update your novels.

  4. Oh, I've done it. I'm hoping CreateSpace will get back to me within a few days or I'm going to hound them. After all they're losing money. That should be motivation enough for them to sort it out.

  5. Roger, too funny about your reply from Amazon. That company is just plain not nice to e-authors unless you're bringing them in a ga-zillion dollars. Can't wait to see how this works.
