I haven't been able to do any writing this week. Nearly Christmas, so people want to do stuff. That stuff usually involves me sitting for extended periods of time reading my Kindle, which has just given up the ghost for the final time.
I did, however, cause one of the nastiest bouts of cold (-2) rain (torrential) and snow (just a bit). My crime, I washed my motorbike on Monday. All my neighbours came out and told me to stop. "You know what'll happen. blah blah.." Well they were right and I was wrong. And now to cap it all my bike is even dirtier than before. I came off twice, and nearly lost my knee cap today when a driver assumed that just because my right indicator light was on, I was doing it just to irritate him. My impudence is astounding apparently.
However I did manage to find the hook upon which the end of my second Kongomato novel will be based; and the front end of kongomato 3. So all is not lost, apart from my front mudguard, half my silver work and a nasty dent in my petrol tank.
I aim to do at least five thousand word tomorrow, providing a plague of locusts doesn't invade the house.
Glad you are alive and OK. Sounds like you have been having it rough lately. Hope everything gets better soon. I know what you mean about getting distracted from writing. Good luck and hope you get back on track! Take care!
ReplyDeleteThanks. That's just a standard day in London. I've driven in Paris, Rome, Milan and Rio. But for sheer lethality, London is easily at the top of the list.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds very ambitious - but glad to hear your creative process is working well! Now you know that washing a motorbike at this time of year is just silly and asking for trouble! I'm with your neighbours on this one. Hope you are ok after your escapade!
ReplyDeleteGot a bruised knuckle, but I'm not complaining, I'm tough. Couldn't do any writing, though because my boss called me in. Perhaps tomorrow. I'll get Kongomato 2 finished by Christmas.
ReplyDeleteHope you're feeling better!!
