Eighteen mistakes so far.

I'm so glad that I decided to edit Hoodies 2 again. I'm only up to chapter 12 and I've found eighteen mistakes. No plot holes yet but all typos. When I've finished this edit in a week or so, I've decided that I'm going to do it again. That will make eleven edits. Eventually the law of averages says that I should be able to cull all of them.

Getting ahead of myself as usual; if there's the slightest chance that I win the Harper Collins competition, they're going to want a second book that's clean, so this is all good practice. I've been writing for so many years but until I began uploading my work to Amazon I never really considered the edits, believing (erroneously) that after so many re-writes, there couldn't possibly be any mistakes. Well now I know better.

I was parked outside a hotel tonight waiting for my boss. There were about twenty thousand prepubescent girls crowding the place. I've never seen so many in my life. Eventually I discovered who were there. And when my boss came out, one of the most controversial contestants of the television contest they are all entered into, almost snapped his spine messing about on a cycle. That would really have crushed the already fading ratings. Pity I didn't have a camera.

    1. It was. If young girls were an army, they'd rule the world.

  2. Why is the camera always at home when you really need it? Another example of Sod’s law me thinks.
Did you see my comment to you on Twitter the other day? One of your posts was included in the art daily. You should still be able to find the comment on your Twitter page if you missed it.

  3. Kudos for going through so many rounds of edits. Get other eyes on it, too. It's so much easier for others to stop your typos. You know the story so well and your brain will fill in things that aren't really there or that may be incorrect.

  4. You're right, of course. Donna Yates has already read it once but ultimately it's my own responsibility. I'm never again going to upload another version because I was too sloppy on the first.

  5. Roger, too funny. So, you need to post whatever was in the art daily.
As for the editing, well, as I work on formatting for createspace, I'm still finding some! Where is Data when you need him?
