I'm not saying we've had too much rain but...

This wasn't there yesterday.

If it turns and looks at me I'm moving out.

I made what (according to my wife) is the biggest mistake of my life yesterday.
With my new job comes a free Mercedes, but I don't want it. I'm happy to spend the forty minute journey to work freezing or being terrorised by manic driver who comprise the entirety of London's road users, in favour of my scooter. I might be in comfort but almost three hours spent in stationary traffic even in the most comfortable car is not my idea of fun. At my age (says she) I should just relax and enjoy it.

I'd rather relax and enjoy the extra two hours in bed. Perhaps I'm not getting the point.

  1. Are those mushrooms? They're huge.
I wouldn't want to sit in traffic forever, no matter what kind of car. But a scooter in winter or rainy days could be awfully uncomfortable.

  2. Only when you hit the ground. I'm not as good at bouncing as I was.
As for the fungi. I know you can eat most of them but I just haven't the courage to try that. Even cutting it away will take nerves of steel.

  3. You could always write a spectacular novel in thowe 3 hours.

  4. True, but I could just as well listen to Black Sabbath at full volume and annoy everyone within fifty feet - not that I would of course.

  5. I think you are right. Commuting through the London in rush hours is a pain. Those 3 hours can be spent better.

  6. Like sleeping. Have you ever noticed that the best film or programme you ever saw on TV comes on just as you have to leave for work?
