Books's going well but...

I've managed to do quite a bit of writing over the last few days. However I've come across a problem. My new novel, The Book Of Pain suggests that there will be some unpleasantness. 

   And that's the problem. I've completely run out of synonyms for and adjectives to describe pain and agony. There are only so many ways of portraying the word in all its ramifications. I'll keep going but it a real pain in the...

  2. I might just take you up on that. The thing I don't want to do is look up words that nobody has ever heard of. The last thing people want to read is some pretentious novel where the author is trying to show the rest of the world that his vocabulary is just soooo much greater than theirs.

  3. have you tried thesaurus.com? I bet you have. My next recommendation is an OLD thesaurus - I have one from circa 1930 I found at a garage sale and it has some awesome phrases in it :)
