I've done it again

I've been working so hard on my new novel Spawn Of Kongomato, that I've run out of ideas. Well it's not that so much, but I've only written 200 pages and with about fifty to go by the time it finishes, it's going to be barely more than a novella. So I think I'll give it a rest. All of my previous novels have been between 95 -105K words. Something will occur in the fevered recesses of my brain, so I'll just make some notes.

My new, new novel, The Book Of Pain, however, is progressing nicely. So I've decided this time to do something I've never done before. Or at least never seriously attempted before. I think I'm going to try for mainstream publication. That doesn't mean my belief in Self pubbing has waned, but I really think / hope this one might make it. It's different, as far as I can tell. I'm working hard to make it unlike anything I've ever written and I'm trying even harder to build a new style.

Whether it will work, only time will tell.

I don't drink, gamble or run with naughty women. I gave up eating ages ago and have lost 33lbs as a result. I don't kick dogs or laugh at people, so I'm trying to come up with a resolution I can stick to. I already know that I'm going to write more but that's a just a hope and not really a resolution. Maybe I'll try to stop swearing at my daughter's horse when it barfs its revolting breath all over me just out of spite, but in the scheme of things that isn't really much. I'll keep working on it.

  2. That's very kind of you. My Christmas was good, if brief.

  3. Good luck with the mainstream method. I sincerely hope you find an agent that likes your work. As for a resolution, I make them every week, week after week, without fail. Except when I try to really implement them.

  4. Making resolutions is no problem. It's just the part that comes after which prove problematical.

  5. I think it's good to try for all methods of publication. They're all different and can be good for different projects. Good luck!

  6. Thank you. I have a ways to go yet as I've only finished about fifty pages. But I suppose there's no harm in trying. sometimes publishers take on books not yet finished.

  7. Happy (rather late) New Year. I'm looking forward to reading your next book - self published or mainstream - I don't mind either way!
