Great - but bad at the same time.

I've been working hard on my new three month contract all week and barely been at home.

This is what I'm being forced to drive. Somehow I'll put up with it. But lest ye think it's all roses, I live in a city where the average traffic speed is 1.3 mph.

That's not the great or bad.

Now that I've finally got a bit of time to myself, I just checked my Smashwords account.

Great in that I had over two hundred downloads of the free parts of all my novels, but bad in that didn't include a single sale.

Hopefully the entire world doesn't think that my writing is just too rubbish to buy, and  just haven't read it yet. Amazon has been marginally better but I think that with them it's mainly just chance since they really do nothing to sell our work. Smashwords is useful because they have so many outlets and I shall continue to hope that people actually get around to reading free 20% they downloaded and buy some later.

This is my own glorious transport. It's done 35,000 miles and is falling apart - like me.

    1. It is safer but soooooooooo boring. And even the slightest ding in any body panel is going to cost £1000 plus. It doesn't make for relaxing driving in London.

  2. Wow, what a car to drive. Of course, at that speed, your employer could walk faster. Nice bike.

    1. They've reduced the size of the engine. Now it's only a six litre W12, and with a car weighing almost three tons it doesn't give you much ooomph.
And bosses don't walk - ever!!!!!!

  3. I’m going to have one of those when I win the lottery – the car, not the bike obviously! Not that there is anything wrong with your bike, I just prefer to be inside a moving vehicle. :-)

    1. Glad to hear you're not dissing my bike. Actually I prefer it to the Bentley. There was something special about them before Audi bought the company. I don't know what it was, but it's gone.

  4. I have a list of advertising websites - many that are free for authors - that list bargain books or free books. If you're interested let me know and I'll shoot it over to you :)

    1. I am, very. I think I'll put up A Little Twist free for a while.
      Thanks.
