Almost finished another edit in time for Christmas.

I've just about finished yet another edit of Spawn of Kongomato in time for Christmas. Wondering what I should do before returning to the first of the next edit of the three books I foolishly began at the same time, I happened upon an old floppy disc the other day, (not a three and a half inch but a five and a quarter inch version) and to my pleasure, discovered a book wot I rit about twenty years ago.

It's complete rubbish of course but the premise behind the book still excites me just as much as it did when I wrote it, and the fact that I spent over a month researching the technical details has made me decide to write it again.

I'm getting bored with SF but so enjoyed The book of Pain that this will be a good way of writing something else.

Stand by for blood and guts with the only sex scene I ever wrote. I'll probably trash it this time since they embarrass me, and if they do that to me, the writer, I wonder how any reader will react.

   It's called flashback. Can't wait.

I wrote it in Word Perfect 5.00  before converting it to Word ver 2.00. I wonder if MS has a filter.

  1. How amazing to find an old story from 20 years ago- and the fact that you were able to read what was on the floppy disc is incredible! Glad you will use the story for your next writing project. If a story idea still grabs you 20 years later then it must be good! Best of luck!

  2. Thanks, Jess. I've often thought about it and always hoped I'd find it since I don't believe that anyone else has done a novel in quite the same way. Here's hoping. Trouble is I've still got those pesky three novels to finish yet and this time I'm not going to let them languish. I want them published by March.

  3. Good luck with that sex scene Roger, I don't envy you! I read 50 shades (all of them). It was easy – I missed out all the sex scenes! It only took a couple of days to read and return them to my neighbour (in a plain brown paper bag!!)

  4. I decided to make the sex scene funny, sort of, and that way I wouldn't have to be explicit.
Just finished Kongomato 2, edit 4. I'm almost happy.

  6. I can't wait. Your works are such excellent reads. And a sex scene too? Alright!

    1. Thank you, Donna. I've already rewritten the sex scene so that I'm happy with it, as much as I can be with such things. Don't like writing them, don't like reading them. I'm not a old prude but they just don't float my boat, as it were.
