Spawn of Kongomato

I was a little worried. Even though I have three more novels almost ready to publish, I haven't actually written one for a few years. What, I wondered, if I've become so used to editing, that I won't be able to write a new one any more?

   Thankfully I needn't have worried.

Now that someone has asked me to write a sequel to Kongomato, I put fingers to keyboard expecting nothing to happen. I even went against the grain and began to plan the novel, which is something I never do.

But the second I began typing, a new and hopefully exciting twist occurred to me. So I just went with it, and before I knew it I'd typed five thousand words. Admittedly they were full of mistakes and really cruddy spelling but I never do anything about that until I've finished the whole chapter.

Now I'm quite hopeful. I'll keep typing until Donna has read Three Hoodies 2 and I've edited it again a few times more. Then when that's done, I'll upload it and do what I really love: writing. Yes, I'd love a Porsche but that might take me away from what I really want to do most. And the way I drive it might be permanently.

  1. A new twist. I bet it's a good one. I can't wait now. Maybe I'll dawdle on the editing, so you'll have time to write more of the new book...

  2. Good stuff Roger, I can't wait to read it. I'm sure it's better to just write and then worry about all the other 'stuff' once it's done.

    1. I got a message from CreateSpace last night. They promise that the updated Kongomato will be in Amazon by the 29th. As soon as it comes, it'll be on its way.

  3. yay! I was in the same bat, though I churned Patrick out (however, since it is a prequel there was a vague outline) and now I am staring at book 5 where there is no outline and nothing prewritten... it's like looking into the void...

  4. I know. The mad beginning has passed. Now what am I going to do? I think I'll just use the good old standby. I'll slaughter someone. Perhaps I need some help.
